Letters 1916 - 1918

These are Waldemar Flaig's letters written from the front to his friend Josef Liebermann who had remained in Villingen, escaped from duty because classified as disabled. The letters were made available to us by the family of Josef Liebermann and Waldemar's nephew Heiner Flaig. They offer a first-hand record of live on the front of the Great War. Waldemar Flaig created a substantial body of sketches and watercolours which accompnay much of the text.
